Hello there, Poberle. When QuickBooks Self-Employed requests vehicle information or expenses during the TurboTax export, it indicates that there is still a step in the tax checklist or questionnaire that needs to be completed, even if all data entries appear to be correct.

Here's what to check in QuickBooks Self-Employed and TurboTax Self-Employed.

  1. Before starting the export, ensure you are not logged into any other QuickBooks product. Having multiple products open can cause data conflicts and block the export process.
  2. Check which version of TurboTax you have. You can send your data to TurboTax Self-Employed or TurboTax Live Self-Employed.
  3. Ensure you have completed the tax checklist. If the checklist is still visible, additional preparation is required before you can export your data.
  4. Complete all the questions up to the Wages and Income page in the Federal tab. Once you reach the Self-Employment Income and Expenses section, the export should be completed, and you should see all your data.
  5. After answering all the questions, you can locate your QuickBooks Self-Employed data by typing “jump to Schedule C” in the search bar to navigate to the Schedule C section.

If you have already entered information into TurboTax Self-Employed before starting the export, this may block data transfer. Please reach out to our Live Support team for assistance in restarting the process.

Feel free to return whenever you need assistance.
