You can merge the distribution account and its sub-account into a particular account in the Chart of Accounts, Kanchan. I'm here to help you every step of the way.
Before we begin, please note that you must edit the sub-accounts before editing the parent account because merging the account directly with a sub-account will prevent the merging process.
Here's how you can successfully merge the account with a sub-account into the particular account of your choice:
- Go to Transactions and select the Chart of Accounts.
- Locate the account you want to merge.
- Click the dropdown button beside View Register and select Edit.

- Rename the account to the same name as the particular account you want to integrate with.
- Make sure to set the same Detail type as the particular account.
- Uncheck the Make this a subaccount (For subaccount).

- Click the Save button.
- Hit Yes, merge accounts then Save.

Please repeat these steps for the parent account as well.
After this, all transactions and amounts from the sub-account and main account will be combined under the chosen merged account.
Regarding the API, you can find APIs or any third-party applications that are integrated with QuickBooks. Here’s how:
- Go to Apps then select Find apps.
- Search for the application in the search bar.
