can we get the distribution account along with the sub-accounts amount for a particular account?

You can merge the distribution account and its sub-account into a particular account in the Chart of Accounts, Kanchan. I'm here to help you every step of the way.

Before we begin, please note that you must edit the sub-accounts before editing the parent account because merging the account directly with a sub-account will prevent the merging process.

Here's how you can successfully merge the account with a sub-account into the particular account of your choice:

  1. Go to Transactions and select the Chart of Accounts.
  2. Locate the account you want to merge.
  3. Click the dropdown button beside View Register and select Edit.
  4. Rename the account to the same name as the particular account you want to integrate with.
  5. Make sure to set the same Detail type as the particular account.
  6. Uncheck the Make this a subaccount (For subaccount).
  7. Click the Save button.
  8. Hit Yes, merge accounts then Save.

Please repeat these steps for the parent account as well.

After this, all transactions and amounts from the sub-account and main account will be combined under the chosen merged account.

Regarding the API, you can find APIs or any third-party applications that are integrated with QuickBooks. Here’s how:

  1. Go to Apps then select Find apps.
  2. Search for the application in the search bar.

Additionally, reconciling your accounts in QuickBooks with your bank and credit card statements ensures that your financial records remain accurate and everything is correctly aligned. For more detailed information, please refer to this article: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.
