Join nowFor some reason when I am in my company file, the backup option is "gray" and will not allow me to make a backup file... Does anyone have a way to correct this?
Hi there, @kdhartling,
Let's work together so you can back up your company file.
Mac has a built-in disk utility that QuickBooks uses to create a DMG (image) file when backing up company files. We'll need to verify the data to help detect why the button is grayed out, then run rebuild to resolve it.
Here's the article that details the steps to run and verify and rebuild utilities: Resolve data damage on your company file.
If the same issue persists, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Technical Team. This way, they'll be able to do screen-sharing to help discover where the issue is coming from. You can contact them through this link: Contact the QuickBooks Desktop Customer Support Team.
You can also visit this site for other related topics about QuickBooks for Mac. It includes guides and latest news about the software: https://qblittlesquare.com/.
Let me know how the call goes by leaving a comment below. I'm always around to provide the information you need to back up your file.

Also, make sure that your QuickBooks Desktop is always up-to-date. This way, you'll have the new fixes and patches to avoid issues in using QuickBooks Desktop.

While accessing your Quickbooks software, you may encounter some errors that will not allow you to log in to your Quickbooks tool. To fix these types of errors you can use Quickbooks Install Diagnostic Tool or you can install Quickbooks Clean install tool. For more information, you can visit our website.
