Long story short, I have signed up for a ProAdvisor account by mistake three weeks ago. I have tried to cancel the account, but I receive an error message every time: "Unable to process your request at this time. Please sign out and try again later. If the issue persists, please contact support and reference this message. (Error code: RULES_VALIDATION_ERROR, type: VALIDATION_ERROR)"
I have tried to delete my data, but it doesn't work. Then I have tried to cancel the free subscription plans, which were set by default: QuickBooks Plus, QBOA_STANDARD, and QBFSPELITE4A. The latter is a paid plan - and the free trial will expire in less than five days.
Will these plans be automatically canceled if I don't renew them? I'm not using the account at all, and I don't want to end up paying for something I don't use. Does anyone know how I should proceed? Simply put, I want to make sure all the plans are canceled.
Thank you.
It's good to see you here in the Community, andreea30.
You don't have to worry, as long as there is no billing information on the account, it will not automatically renew your subscription.
Also, we can do basic troubleshooting to cancel the account. Let's try logging in to your QuickBooks account using a private or a different browser. There are times that the browser stores frequently-accessed data, thus causing some errors or unusual behavior. Here's how:
Once logged in, and able to canceled account. You need to clear the cache of the regular browser you're using. You can also do this task on other supported, up-to-date browsers. Clearing the cache will refresh the system, and you'll be able to work with clean trash.
I recommend the following article for further insight into this, such as what happens with your data: Cancel your QuickBooks subscription.
I'll be happy to assist you further if you have additional questions. Have a great day!
Hi Ailene
Thank you for your prompt reply. I have followed the steps above, but I'm still receiving the same message. I have tried to do it from my phone as well.
I haven't provided any billing details - so the plans will be automatically canceled?
Best regards,
Andra

Thanks for providing an update regarding the steps that you've taken to get this cancellation issue sorted out, @andreea30.
Yes, you're right. YourProAdvisor account will be canceled automatically once the thirty-day trial is over. This will happen since there are no billing details entered on the account.
However, if you want to cancel the account before it ends, I suggest reaching out to our ProAdvisor Care Team. They have the tools to check on your account and help cancel it for you since you've received an error upon cancelling it.
