We no longer use QB. We need to review some old QB accounting data. We have an active license for Intuit QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions Accountant - V16.0, as confirmed in the QuickBooks portal. V16.0 was before they moved to an annual licencing mode, so it should work. When I attempt to install it on Windows 10, I receive the message below. Any advice on how to resolve this? Or do I need to call in? Thank You!
Hello, @QX.
QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2016 is no longer supported and was discontinued. The product will continue to work for you, however, you'll not be able to subscribe to live support or any of the other Intuit services that can be integrated with QuickBooks. That said, this could be the reason why you're getting this error message.
At this time, you may download a 30-days trial of our QBDT subscription, then restore your file from there to continue reviewing your accounting data. You can use the codes provided from this link to install a trial version.
Also, you can read the topics from this article for additional guides on how to download and install QBDT.
To avoid overwriting anything, you can rename your existing company file or the backup so the names are unique. Or you can save the backup in a completely separate folder.
In case you need references while working with QuickBooks in the future, feel free to open the topics from our help articles.
Let me know if you have any other questions, @QX. I'm always here to help. Have a good day!
We are not allowed to install or reinstall any outdated QBD Enterprise any longer (i.e 2017 or older). System will decline our activation request. Open your company file on the trial license of QBD Enterprise 2020 instead. But if your machine only supports QBD 2016, we may share the trial license of it to proceed.
