Check Dispute

Hi there, @dmoore1.

Thank you for reaching out to Intuit Community. I can share some insights about finding your customer's financial institution and handling the bad check.

You can use the Search feature to know about the bank institution of your customer. I'll guide you through the steps:

  1. Click the Magnifying Glass (search icon) on the Toolbar.
  2. Enter important information (such as date, customer name, amount or transaction number) that identifies the transaction.
  3. Select the desired transaction.
  4. If the transaction doesn't appear on the result list, you can use the Advanced Search.

When an ACH transaction is in a dispute, the bank creates a chargeback which immediately reverses the payment.

The amount of the original sale will be deducted from the checking account on file with your Merchant account. You can check the following articles to know more about dispute or chargeback:

You can also reach out to our QuickBooks Payments Team for further assistance.

Feel free to add a comment below if you have other questions about check disputes. I'd be happy to offer additional help.
