Client Invoice - Project Formatting

For some of my clients when I create an invoice the projects are not all formatted alike.  Sometimes it's Client Name:Project Name...other times its just Project Name.

Is there a way to make them all format alike?  Ideally just with the Project Name, but either way would look better than it does now!

I'm glad you check this with us, bbarry.

 

Ideally, the format when selecting a customer with a project on an invoice is Customer Name: Project Name.

 

Since it shows an inconsistent format, let's perform some basic troubleshooting to fix this.

 

There are times when a browser's cache becomes full or damaged. When this happens, issues like this can occur. To better isolate, let's try logging in to your QBO account using an incognito or private browser. Since this doesn't store data in the cache, it the best place to isolate browser issues.

 

Kindly use either of the following shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P

If it works, you may want to clear the browsing history of your regular web browser. This will remove previously-stored browsing data that might have caused the issue. Otherwise, you can try using other supported browsers to be thorough.

Thank you for following the troubleshooting steps, bbarry.

 

As mentioned, the invoice format when creating one for the project is as follows, Client Name:Project Name.

 

Since the browser troubleshooting didn't work, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Online support. They will be able to work with you remotely and check this further.

  1. Go to the Help icon.
  2. Select Talk to a human.
  3. Enter "Talk to a human" again in the search bar.
  4. Choose I still need a human, then click Contact us.
  5. Select Get a callback or Send a message to start a conversation.

I tried starting a chat session multiple times yesterday...but every time it said someone will be with you in 5 minutes...but no one ever showed up to chat

To investigate the root cause of this behavior, it'd be best to reach out to our Customer Care Team, as suggested by my peer above. Know that due to the high volume of chats/calls that we received, getting in touch with our representatives may take longer than usual.

I'm sure you all are busy...it was just the fact that it would always say someone will be with you in 5 minutes...and after an hour of waiting there was still  no one there...
