Closing Pending Build Assemblies at month end

The controller closed the month and all of the pending build assemblies were locked.  We think we need to change the date from last month to next month before closing to keep them opened, but opening each individual pending build assembly, changing the date, and saving them is very laborious.  How do others deal with this at month end closing or updating the date faster?  Guessing around 75 pending builds needed changes.  Thank you for any help.

Closing Pending Build Assemblies at month end

You're correct with opening each pending build assembly, then changing and saving the date will help unlock, @ArtGraham.

Currently, the only way to deal with this is by opening each pending build assembly, then change the date. I know this would be beneficial when we're able to change all the closed-month pending build assemblies.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Inventory menu at the top.
  2. Select the Inventory Center.
  3. Choose the assembly item, then open the pending build.
  4. Adjust the date under the Date drop-down menu, and then select the Remove Pending Status button.
  5. Click Build & Close.

I've got you an article to learn more about Inventory Assembly Items in QuickBooks: Create, build, and work with inventory assembly items.

I'd also encourage visiting our Firm of the Future website to check for product updates and feature enhancements.
