Hi there, ohnw1120.
We’ll need to undergo an interim jump. This is to avoid any data loss and to make sure your 2008 file will work fine with 2019. Interim is updating the file step by step (2008- 2010-2013-2016-2019).
I’d recommend contacting our phone support team to help you with this process. Here’s how to reach them:
Please don’t hesitate to reach us again if you need anything else.
Sorry, I do not find any place to get a phone number. Judging from the text I can get, I will definitely need to have someone walk me thru it, there is more to it than I have the knowledge to do.

Hi John,
There's a slight change in the steps for getting our agent's number.
By the way, this is their office hours: 5AM-7PM (PST) Mon-Fri, 6AM-3PM (PST) Sat.
Feel free to post back here when you have other questions.
I have a phone number, but I cannot seem to jump thru enough hoops to satisfy the computer, judging from how many "interim jumps" I am supposed to go thru, this is more trouble than it is worth, I will do something else.
Hello there, @johnw1120.
Thank you for reaching out back to us. Allow me to share some information about converting QuickBooks 2008 to the current version.
As mentioned by my colleague, you'll have to try the interim jump to make sure your file data is compatible with the current version. From QuickBooks 2008 to 2010 > 2013> 2017 and then 2019 through a backup copy. Make sure to Rebuild for each update (2010, 2013, 2017 and 2019).
It's important that your computer is compatible with QuickBooks to use the product seamlessly, @johnw1120.
Let me know the results, johnw1120. I'm still here to help you more if you have other questions. Have a good one.
