Convert to QB Desktop - Bulk Edit of Special Characters in Memo Field?

I recognize the importance of being able to bulk edit the memo fields when getting your company file ready for import, @leeseinmt.

Currently, the option to batch edit memo fields in QuickBooks Desktop for MAC is unavailable. I suggest visiting Intuit Marketplace to check if there's a third-party application that has the feature.

Otherwise, you'll have to manually remove the special characters in each memo field. Here's how:

1. Open the Reports menu and then click on Custom Transaction Detail Report.
2. In the Dates drop-down menu, choose All Dates.
3. Double-click a transaction with a memo to access it.
4. Erase the special characters from the memo field and click on Save.
5. Minimize the transaction.
6. Repeat the steps for all other transactions.
7. Re-sort your lists.
8. Run verify and rebuild on your company file. Open the File menu and choose Utilities. Next, click Verify Data.

I don't think it is really necessary.  Try it without editing and spot check some of the memos and see how they look.
