Converting data from an AU QBOL database to a new US QBOL database

My client has a US Corporation with Australian ownership.  His accountant set up an AU QBOL database but we are trying to do US accounting for them here.  Our challenges are that the dates are set up as D/M/Y instead of the US standard of M/D/Y and the 1099 feature is not available in AU Quickbooks.  They are utilizing the feature of attaching vendor invoices for all A/P entries. I would like to set up a US QBOL account for them but need the historical data and am hoping we do not have to manually re-enter all transactions and attachments.   Is this possible?

Converting data from an AU QBOL database to a new US QBOL database

Hello there, @Terrietta.

I can provide information about converting data between QuickBooks Online (QBO) AU to your other QBO US account.

In QBO, we can only transfer some of the existing lists of data from one QBO company to another, like the following information:

  • Customers
  • Vendors
  • Chart of Accounts
  • Products and Services

Additionally, you can change the date format before importing to QBO US from Excel when you export the lists and data.

Moreover, you can manually set up the 1099 after the data are migrated to QBO US.

Furthermore, the only transactions that can be transferred to QBO US are bank data, invoices, and Journal Entries. For other transactions you're unable to move, you'll have to use a third-party app so you don't have to re-enter them manually. You can search for applications through the Apps menu of your QBO, then click the Find Apps tab. You can also look here in our QuickBooks Online App Store or outside QuickBooks.

I'm attaching these articles for further guidance in migrating your data, which includes the file format you can use to import information:

Please comment again in this thread if you have clarification about transferring your data to other QBO accounts. I'm always here to help you.
