Copy Color and Material data from Purchase Order to Bill

Hello,

 

We are using the "Color" and "Material" field for the purchase order and we want to copy the data from these fields to the "Color" and "Material" into Bill.

When i select a PO in Bill, it copied everything from the PO except the Color and Material.

 

Is it possible to copy these two fields into Bill?

Hi @IKhong,

 

Let me provide some details on how the custom fields in your Purchase Orders affects the bill.

 

If you're referring the Color and Material field as a line item, this means you can copy it to a bill by clicking on the Select PO button.

 

But if you’re referring to color and material as custom fields, there’s currently no option to copy it to the bill. This is because the color and material fields are customized for your purchase order only.

Yes,

 

These two are the custom fields i saw in Bill.

 

I also saw these two custom fields in Estimate, Sales Order, Purchase Order templates.

I was able to copy the content of these two fields from Estimate->Sales Order->Purchase Order. 

I thought that since they have the same field names, i should be able to copy them to the Bill.

for every item in the item list, i added a content to the Color and Material fields.

so if i select an item in Bill, then the data for Color and Material is populated.

 

I just was not sure why it would not be copied to the bill from the PO.

Thank you for getting back and providing additional clarification here in the Community. I'm here to assist you with any questions you may have about copying data from a purchase order.

 

Unlike other sales forms, customizing the bill template in the Desktop version is unavailable. That said, only the information from the default fields will show in the bill that you'll be creating.
