Creating a new customer with husband and wife with two different last names

I'm very new to QB, just learning the basics. I'm using it to manage my husbands small architecture business, using QB for MAC desktop plus. When i create a new customer, if the customer is to be a husband and wife billed together on same bill but they have different last names, how do I list them in the very first box at the top... CUSTOMER ____________? So that they can both be looked up but have their info on the same card, or can I not do that? If not, what are my options for husband and wife with different last names who will get one bill but both names will need to go on the bill and will only need one account with us? Thanks.

Creating a new customer with husband and wife with two different last names

Thanks for visiting us today, @c2boyd.

I can share some insights if you want to input both names in one customer profile. While the system only display one name in the customer center, there is a workaround you can try. To do that, you can input the full name of one of the couple as the fist name and the other in the last name.

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Customers menu.
  2. Click the option to create a customer.
  3. Assign both names on the first name and last name fields.
  4. Save when done.

See this link to learn more about adding names in QuickBooks Mac Desktop: Add a customer, employee, or vendor in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.
