Custom Form Font Issue

I am having issues with my custom forms (invoices, POs, etc)  One column now has a bold font, different from what is selected.  I've gone into the designer and reselected different fonts to test, but it is constantly reverting back to a bold font. I've tried opening a backup (before the problem started) and exporting the layout.  Then opening the current saved file and importing the "old" custom form.  The issue remains.

Anyone else having this problem and found a solution?  I've seen other company's printed invoices that this has happened to so I know its just not my file.

I'm using Quickbooks for Mac 2019.  Anyone know if this has been addressed in 2020 or 2021 versions?

Thank you

Custom Form Font Issue

Let me help ensure you're able to change the font type of the column when customizing sales forms, cjschulz.

It could be that the form your currently working on is an old template. That's why you're unable to edit it. You need to create a new one and customize the form.

Let me show you how:

  1. From the template window, select the text you want to reformat.
  2. On Formatting Palette, change the horizontal alignment, vertical alignment, color, or font of the text.

Custom Form Font Issue

Are you saying you cannot edit a custom form?  There is an option to edit or create a new one.  All I want to do is change the font and unbold one column (which seemed to bold on its own). I've been using that customized form for a while now.  Out of the blue that column became bold with a different font.  And editing it doesn't save the changes.

Something else I just discovered that may/may not help.  The column that isn't cooperating is a custom field from my items.  Again, it used to print fine.

You can still edit your custom forms, @cjschulz.

I've got some ideas to seamlessly achieve this in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac.

First, let's make sure that to update your QBDT to the latest release. This way, your software will have the current features and fixes.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to QuickBooks.
  2. Select Check for QuickBooks Updates.
  3. Click Install and Relaunch.

When the update is complete, QuickBooks will automatically open. To manually update the software, go directly to the Manual update section in this article: Update QBDT for Mac.

If the issue persists, you can use the Verify and Rebuild tool to check and resolve possible data damage.

After that, you can customize your forms again and save them as you normally would.

Thanks for your suggestions.  My QB was already updated.  I did a Verify and a few things were detected.  I then did a Rebuild and then a Verify again.  All was repaired.  I went back in to print an invoice and the same bold font on the custom field was there.  I opened the layout designer, clicked on the column with the funky problem, re-chose Times 12 regular and saved.  Opened up an invoice again and same problem.  The text in that column was bold and a different font (looks like helvetica?)

Still not working properly.  The same thing happens with POs.  One column, which is a custom field, prints bold as well.  Same as the invoices.

I've been having the exact same issue for a long time, through many versions and now with the latest Big Sur OS. I'm using a typeface managed by Suitcase Fusion (21.2.2). I'm using QuickBooks 2019 R10, Mac OS 11.2.
