Cycle count and serial numbers

We want to start using the cycle count routine with hand scanners in our warehouse. Is there a way to add serial numbers to the count that is sent to the scanner?

Glad to have you in the Community today. I'd like to share some information about how cycle count routine works in QuickBooks Desktop.

 

You can add a serial number with the cycle count routine. However, you'll need to download the Warehouse Manager App to make it possible. This app can be installed on either an MC40 Barcode Scanner or on some Android phones. Also, I'd suggest giving our Customer Care Team a call so they can walk you through on how to add the serial number. 

 

To reach them: 

  1. In your browser, navigate to https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact
  2. Choose QuickBooks Desktop.
  3. Click the issue or topic.
  4. Click the Green Phone button to see the support number.

Cycle count and serial numbers

We already had the app installed so we downloaded the update and still don't see where the serial number is supposed to go. The only place I can figure is in the notes field. I tried to scan the barcoded serial numbers into the notes field but this doesn't work. If we have 25 (or more) units all with serial numbers this isn't an effective solution.
