Date drop down doesn't expand

Any idea how to fix the date drop down list to expand completely so the date range shows up without having to guess multiple times?  Is this something QB is working on fixing? Ever??

I'm using Premier 2018 Desktop edition.

Thanks!

Re: Date drop down doesn't expand

Hey there, DS5.

Let's repair your QuickBooks. Repairing the software fixes program-related issues.

But first, create a backup of your company file. This is to make sure we have a copy of your data if ever your account messes up.

Here's how to repair QuickBooks:

  1. Click the Start/Windows icon.
  2. Go to Control Panel
  3. Choose Programs and Features.
  4. Choose QuickBooks, then click Uninstall/Change.
  5. Click Continue, then Next.
  6. Choose Repair, then click Next.

Wait for the repair to complete and click Finish. Then, download the latest QuickBooks release when you open the software.

Open the report again, then check the date drop-down list. If you need more help, just leave a comment.

Thank you Kristine,

This did not correct the problem I'm having.  I followed the steps as listed below.

Re: Date drop down doesn't expand

Thanks for getting in touch with us today, DS5,

I want to make sure you're able to get your work done. Let's get this squared away.

Have you tried doing this on a sample company file? If not, I'd suggest doing that first for us to isolate the problem. Please be reminded to create a back up copy before any troubleshooting steps to avoid any accidental data loss.

Here's how to open a sample file:

  1. Launch QuickBooks.
  2. If your own company file opens up automatically, go to the File menu and choose Close Company.
  3. The No Company Open dialog box will appear.
  4. Click the Open a sample file drop-down menu and click to select the sample business that most closely matches your own.

If the same issue exists on the sample file, let's close QuickBooks and run the Reboot.bat file. This refreshes QuickBooks-related .DLL and .OCX files in Microsoft Windows.

Once done, reboot you computer and then review your DPI settings. You may want to check this article to know more about resolving display issues in QuickBooks: QuickBooks Desktop display issues

That should get you on the right track, DS5. Please keep me updated on the outcome. I'm always around to help you out. Have a good one!

Re: Date drop down doesn't expand

I tried a sample company, same problem.  I then ran the reboot file, nothing.  Then I rebooted, just to make sure, still nothing. The date still doesn't expand when I try to run reports.
