Desktop online backup

I purchased data protect so that we could backup our desktop version and have online backups. When I try to activate the online backup I get the following error message even after logging in:


Uh oh, there’s a connection problem.

Sorry, but the app didn’t connect. Please try again later, or contact customer support for help.
View error details (for Developers)
The app_id provided is invalid.

Glad to have you here as a member of the QuickBooks Community. I've encountered this situation before. More than likely it may be a permission error on the back end that can be resolved by contacting our support team.

  1. Open QuickBooks
  2. Go to Help, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Select Contact Us.
  4. Enter your concern, then select Continue.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us,either Start Messaging or Get a Callback.
