Wondering if there is a way to set a default display of sales and invoices so that it displays most recent first? I also want to display all outstanding invoices, but cannot see anything older than 12 months. Help?

Allow me to join in this conversation and add more details about Invoice window functionalities.

For now, the option to view all outstanding invoices using a custom date range is unavailable on the Invoices Page. This function is only available in the All Sales window.

I can see how this option would be helpful for you and your business. Therefore, let me take note of this as a suggestion to improve your QuickBooks experience.

In the meantime, you can use the All Sales window to view your older transactions. All you have to do is to use the Custom date feature to review them.

Additionally, you can visit our Firm of the Future site. This is where we share recent happenings and future developments, such as updates to newly added features.

Thanks for the reply. :-( for the answer. What an odd (and useless) way to display information. Is more customization available in upgraded versions of QBO?

I'm here to share and help you with your sales and invoices.

First, I'd like to know if you're referring to the All Sales and Invoices page from the Sales menu. If so, we can simply filter the dates so you can see the old transactions.

If you're referring to the Dashboard, it's used to see a preview of the health of your business. Although the dashboard isn't customizable, we have different reports available to review your sales and invoices. Please check these articles for your reference:

You'll want to upgrade your subscription to QuickBooks Online Advanced. You still can't customize the dashboard on this plan but you can create charts to see your business performance.

In addition, please check this page: Invoices and payments. This gives you different references in organizing sales and invoices.

I am looking specifically at the Invoices page. The only date options are by year or various within the current year. The All Sales page does allow me to filter using a custom date range, but the Invoices page does not.
