Is our QB online account setup for payroll.  One of our contractor's would like direct deposit.  If we aren't setup for payroll, how will it cost for the direct deposits.  Thank you.  Mari

Thanks for chiming in on this thread, marisaenz2.

I'll give details about the direct deposit cost and share steps on where you can review if you have payroll set up in your account.

You'll need an active payroll subscription with QuickBooks to pay contractors by direct deposit, even if you don’t run payroll for active W-2 employees.

To check if you are subscribed to payroll, here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear > Account and settings.
  2. On the left panel, click Billing & Subscription then check for QuickBooks Online Payroll.

For reference, check out this article: Which payroll service do I have?.

As for the cost, depending on your payroll subscription, you can find the pricing by following these steps:

  1. On the left panel, click Payroll > Contractors.
  2. In the Pay contractors with direct deposit section, click the Check it out button to see the cost details.

I've got this sample screenshot for a visual guide:

You can also visit our website here then click the Important offers, pricing details, & disclaimers link and scroll down to QuickBooks Online Payroll terms section.

If you want to learn more about the paying a contractor in QuickBooks Online, you can read this article: Pay a contractor with direct deposit.

Please let me know if you have more questions about the details above or need help with other concerns in your account. I'll be right here to help you out again. Have a good day ahead.
