Join nowI send multiple invoices to the same customer. I have created a custom field for "Sidemark" (Jobname). Each time I send an email I end up copying and pasting the "Sidemark" into the subject. My questions is, is there a way to have this auto populate like the [InvoiceNo.] tag? I know its somewhat of a laziness thing on my side but it would simplify typos and help my customers keep track of all the invoices coming through. It seems simple enough to link the data via HTML tag. Hope someone has a solution.
Thanks in advance!
Jesse
Good day, DemickWF.
The option to auto populate the custom field you've created is unavailable. With that said, I'll share this idea with our engineers. Since we only want to provide the best experience to our customers, our engineers will analyze this feature suggestion and may be added to our future updates.
However, I have a recommendation for you. You can use the Billing address field to enter the Sidemark detail. The detail will auto populate right after you select a customer.
I’ll show you how:
You can also check this article on how to customize your sales form: Customize your invoices, estimates, and sales receipts.
I'm just around the corner if you have additional concerns. Thank you.
I think you're misunderstanding. I have a custom field on my invoice template that I use to manually input a Sidemark each time I create an invoice. What I'm looking to achieve is having that sidemark field that I have manually typed in on the invoice automatically populate in an area on the email that is sent out. Similar to how the invoice number automatically populates via the [Invoice No.] tag.
Thank you for the clarification, @DemickWF.
The option to automatically populate the Sidemark details on the email you send is currently unavailable. As a workaround, you can continue to enter it manually or check for third-party apps that can automatically sync the details when you email an invoice.
You can either go to the Apps menu in QuickBooks, then proceed to the Find Apps tab. You can also go directly to the website: QuickBooks Online Apps.
Also, you can check our blog for the latest feature updates, as well as an additional reference while working with QuickBooks Online.
