Emailing Year-End Reports

One thing we use QB for is generating tax deductible receipts for our non-profit. When we go to email receipts to our donors, their email addresses automatically generate in the "to" line and all we have to do is push "send." However, when we go to email our donors their year-end giving reports, QB doesn't automatically generate the donors' email addresses. That means we have to go to each individual donor's info, copy their email address, re-open their year-end report, and paste their email address before sending it. This is a real pain and takes a lot of time. Is there a way for QB to automatically generate donors' email addresses for the year-end reports the same way it does for receipts?

Emailing Year-End Reports

Let me help share information about emailing your report, @Secretary.

As of the moment, there isn't an integrated way to pull up and automate the email address used to send a report. It's best to manually enter the email address linked to the donor's name before sending the year-end reports via email.

While the option is not yet available, I'd recommend letting our product developers know about this by sending a feature request. Let me show you how:

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Select Send Feedback Online,
  3. Click Product Suggestion.
  4. Under Product Area, choose Reports.
  5. Enter a few words describing how you wanted to automate the donor's email address used to email a report.
  6. Select Send Feedback.
  7. Click Close window.

I'm adding a couple of articles below that'll allow you to dive in deeply and understand your report:

Don't hesitate to post again if you have other questions or concerns with QuickBooks reporting. I'm always around, ready to help. Take care and stay safe!
