Here's how:
- Go to the File menu, then click Utilities.
- Select Verify Rebuild.
- If you see:
- "QuickBooks detected no problems with your data," no further action is needed.
- For a specific error message, there may already be an article for it. Try searching for one in our QuickBooks Desktop support site for specific instructions.
- "Your data has lost integrity," indicates there is data damage in the file. Continue to the steps below to Rebuild Data to correct the problem.
- Tap Utilities from the File menu.
- Choose Rebuild Data, then choose OK to close all windows.
- QuickBooks will ask to make a backup before rebuilding your company file, select OK.
- Once done, hit OK.

After that, you can close, then re-open QuickBooks. From there, update the name type again.
