Join nowWe have successfully been using IIF files to import journal entries into Quickbooks Enterprise 20.0. We were in the process of testing a larger entry for payroll. We successfully uploaded a few times (although with errors in the file), fixed the errors, and would try to test again. After about the third time of doing this we are receiving an error box saying something's not right. We weren't able to import right now. Try again later. This first started yesterday afternoon. I came back after some time and it was still giving this message. I tried again this morning, and it is still giving this message. I have attached a screen shot of the error. This happens when I go to File > Utilities > Import > IIF Files, then click the blue "Import IIF" button, select the file, and then the error pops up. It doesn't even try to upload the file or anything.
To note, we have used this template successfully for smaller journal entries. So I do not believe it has anything to do with the file itself. It seems it is something with Quickbooks. Almost like we have timed out the system or something.
Is there a simple way to fix this? Or do we need to restart our server or something along those lines?
Did you run the verify data tool?
Frankly, we prefer using the 3rd party tool to import JE.
We have not yet. There are 2-3 different departments currently working in quickbooks, so we have not done anything that would require switching to single user mode, or having anyone log out. We figure ultimately that is what will have to happen, but was just seeing if there was a simple solution we are not aware of first.
