Etsy sales

I use Quickbooks Online simple start. I just synced my Etsy shop to quickbooks using the app. Quickbooks is now recording all the daily sales from Etsy and also recording the weekly deposits into my checking account. This is essentially doubling my income. How do I change this?

Welcome to the Community space, @yonah_packs. I'd be glad to share some insight about the double income that shows when you synced QuickBooks and Etsy.

The data that was downloaded and displayed in the Bank Feeds is dependent on what your bank has shared with us and how your transaction was posted on your bank’s website. This way, I'd suggest contacting the Etsy Support Team. They might have preferences or settings that can enable or disable the transaction to double up.

Also, you can exclude the duplicate transactions that show in your checking account. Let me show you how.

  1. Click the Banking menu from the navigation panel.
  2. Go to the Banking tab, click the account you want to use.
  3. Tap the For Review tab.
  4. Mark the checkbox of the transactions you want to exclude.
  5. From the Batch actions drop-down, choose Exclude Selected.
  6. The items will be moved to the Excluded section.
  7. From the Excluded tab, put a check in the box for the transaction you'd like to permanently delete.
  8. Choose Batch actions, then Delete.
  9. Click Yes to confirm.

Once done, these items are no longer reported as part of your business finances and will not appear in any associated account registers or reports.

I've got a great article for you that provides additional details on excluding transactions. You can view it by clicking this link: How to exclude expenses from downloaded bank transactions?

Once everything looks good, you can now review and categorize your transactions to put them in your accounts. See this article for more information on how to match and categorize bank transactions.

Also, I encourage checking our Help articles page to learn some tips and tricks in managing your QBO account. From there, you can read great articles that can guide you through the steps by steps process.

If you have any other questions about QuickBooks or excluding transactions, let me know by adding a comment below. I'm a few clicks away to help. Have a great day!
