Event log Error 4

moved QB to a new computer and seemed to be working fine. Yesterday QB shut down and I found in the event viewer that I have been getting a Event log error 4 every day since the reinstall on my new computer. Verify data shows no problems. Did an online search and the fixes are very involved and varied. I will probably uninstall and reinstall but wondered if anyone has other quick fix solutions.

Glad to have you in the QuickBooks Community. I found some information to help. The QuickBooks Event log error 4, is commonly attached to Microsoft .NET Framework. With the QuickBooks ToolHub, you have access to multiple tools and applications able to fix many common issues regarding QuickBooks Desktop. For instance with the Install Diagnostic Tool, it will resolve any .NET Framework, MSXML as well as C++ related errors.

  1. Download the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  2. Open the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  3. In the tool hub, select Installation Issues.
  4. Select QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool. Let the tool run. It can take up 20 minutes.
