Join nowI exported my 2020 books to Windows and sent that to my accountant could do her thing. I usually Save for my accountant. Now, my 2020 files are just gone. I know they were backed up, how do I get them back??
Jon
I can show you how to restore your backup, gatehealing.
While we're unable to directly create an accountant's copy directly from QuickBooks Desktop for Mac, you'll want to convert your file first to Windows. To get back to business using your company file, you can look into your files where you store backup files. To know the folder location, you can follow these steps:
Double-click on the most recent backup file and use this reference for the detailed steps in restoring your company file with the attached documents: Restore your backup company file for QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.
Keep me posted if there's anything else that you need help with. Have a great day!
Saving your file to windows and backing it up to your accountant do the same thing. They both make a Windows compatible .qbb file. Its the same code. It has two menu options because people were looking for two different things.
Neither of these will delete your current company file. Since you are using QuickBooks Desktop Mac 2020 its saved with a file extension of .qb2020. You can look for it using Spotlight. By default it is stored in your Documents folder in your user account. Its probably in there.
If it really is missing then you have disk drive issues or something similar. QuickBooks never deletes it.
