Filtering Sales Reports with Multiple Item Filter and Multiple Search Terms

Is it possible to use the multiple item filter to filter a sales report using multiple search terms?  Another way of saying this is can you use boolean logic in the automatic multiple item search filter?

EX: Instead of running separate reports for a single type of product or manufacturer (say nuts or bolts or Joe's awesome parts), I want to create a single report for multiple types of items that are related (say all hardware items - nuts, bolts and washers).  The way our inventory is organized, the items I want to search for do not all fall under a single high level "parent", so I need to search based on text entry.

I have tried various methods for entering the multiple search terms without any luck as the system seems to want to search for the whole string.   Does anyone know of a way to get this to work?

Re: Filtering Sales Reports with Multiple Item Filter and Multiple Search Terms

Thank you for the details, nflock.

The option to use multiple filter in a sales report is unavailable in QuickBooks Online and Desktop.

You can export each report instead. Then, manually filter it using Excel.

I’ll send this feature request to our developers.
