Go to 1099 E-File Service

When clicking "Go to 1099 E-File Service" in QuickBooks Desktop both in premier and enterprise the imbedded QuickBooks internet explorer says "Navigation to the Webpage was cancelled" if you refresh the page you get "This Page Can't be displayed" "Turn on TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2 in Advanced settings and try connecting to https://www.tax1099.com again. If this error persists, it is possible that this site uses an unsupported protocol or cipher suite such as RC4 (link for the details), which is not considered secure. Please contact your site administrator" I then changed the settings and it still doesn't work. I also spoke to QuickBooks and they do not know a solution they tried to suggest unclicking TLS 1.0 but that did not work either. They gave me the number to the tax1099.com which is not Intuit and no one answers the phone or the chat.

Go to 1099 E-File Service

Hello, Aaron.

I'd like to clarify some things about the boxes and where to find the "Download QB Services & Instructions" step.

The Download QB Services & Instructions step can be done within your Tax1099 Dashboard. It looks like they updated the user interface when downloading the plugin and instructions.

Here are the complete steps in relation to Candice C's response (I'll also include a screenshot):

  1. Log in to https://www.tax1099.com/.
  2. On your account Dashboard, click the Import menu.
  3. Select QuickBooks Desktop
  4. Choose the QuickBooks Plugin option.
  5. Click the Download Quickbooks Plugin and user guide button.

Regarding the boxes, the step does refer to Boxes 16 and 17. To reiterate and clarify when you upload your QuickBooks 1099 data, the data in those boxes will not be included.

So, you'll want to go to your Tax1099 account and re-enter the data manually right before e-filing it.

I'd also like to tackle the "Navigation to the Webpage was cancelled" error message when processing your 1099 within QuickBooks.

Have you tried running the QuickBooks Tool Hub utility to fix the issue? If not, I would recommend checking out this article for the steps and details: Fix common problems and errors with the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub.

If you've already run it, then you can do the clean install solution to fix it. This article will guide you through the steps: Clean install QuickBooks Desktop.

Do you need to check your income, expenses and transaction data using reports? We have an article to help you familiarize what reports you can use in QuickBooks. Check out them out here: Understand reports.

I'll be hanging around the Community space, so just tag my username if you have more questions in efiling your 1099 in QuickBooks. Do you have other concerns? Let's hear them out in your reply below.

The issue has to do with tax1099.com and the internet explorer in QuickBooks. The issue doesn't occur on windows 10 machines or recent windows server. The problem has to do with Internet Explorer 11 and Tax1099.com . This is quite alarming that Quickbooks 2019 only requires windows 7 or higher and if installed on a server windows server 2008 or higher but because Quickbooks is using a 3rd party app tax199.com a company that cannot be reached by phone or chat . Users are forced to upgrade there hardware in order to file 1099s directly through Quickbooks. In the meantime we are seeing if this other method works even though work will have to be duplicated as per your post 16 and 17 must be manually entered
