Let's start by creating the Product/Service items which will serve as the line items. The steps below will walk you through the process:


Turn on the Product and Services preferences

  1. Click Sales in the left navigation menu.
  2. Go to the Products and Services tab.
  3. Check the Show Product/Service column on sales forms box.
  4. Click Save, then Done.

Create new Product and Services

  1. Click Sales, then go to the Product and Services tab.
  2. Hit the New button.
  3. Select the Product or Service type.
  4. Enter all the necessary product or service information, then click Save and close. Repeat these steps for the other items.

To create bills in QuickBooks Online

  1. Click the Plus (+) icon.
  2. Select Bill.
  3. From the Choose a vendor drop-down menu, choose the correct vendor.
  4. Enter the following details in the Item details section:
    - Product/Service: Enter the item that you created.
    - Description: You can leave this field blank.
    - QTY: Enter the amount of items you've purchased.
    - Rate: Enter the price of the item.
  5. Click Save and close.
