How can i print a check from a journal entry?

Hi Team,

Is it possible to print a check from an AP entered as a journal entry? Because my AP aging summary shows me a payable of this specific vendor but when I open it to pay, it redirects me to the journal entry I made.

Thanks for the Help

How can i print a check from a journal entry?

You're welcome, Meron GG.

Don't apologize, there's no such thing as a silly question. :)

If this journal entry was recorded for paying multiple bills from the same vendor, you can also do that using the Bill Pay feature. This link provides more info: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/pay-bills/pay-bills-in-online-bill-pay/00/186034.

Creating a check would reduce the AP amount, so there may not be need to create a journal entry. I recommend talking with your accountant to be sure of the best action to take.

I'm here if you have any other questions.

How can i print a check from a journal entry?

Hey there, Meron.

Thanks for joining us here in the Community. I'd be glad to provide some info regarding your question about creating a check from a journal entry.

While there are many ways to link and customize transactions within QuickBooks Online, there isn't currently a way to print a check from a journal entry. In this case the check would need to be individually created then printed, without directly linking info from the journal entry.

I can see how having this option could be useful in some instances. I'll be sure to pass your feedback along to the Product Development Team for review.

In the meantime, I've got a couple of articles for you that offer helpful details regarding creating checks and journals entries within the system:

How can i print a check from a journal entry?

Hi Morgan,

Thanks for the prompt reply.

So it means that I have to make another journal entry to clear the AP by crediting cash after I print the check as per the link you sent me, correct?

I apologize for the silly question.

Thanks again

How can i print a check from a journal entry?

Just want to pass on that this would be very useful as well. I use a third party payroll system that adds a journal entry for payroll. However, in order to print a check I need to add the check as an expense and then delete it when the check is cashed as QBO sees both the check expense and the journal entry. A single step would be much more useful.
