How do I change the date of bank transactions

Thanks for posting here, @peckandsonsinc. I can assist you in updating the dates for uploaded bank transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO), depending on their current status.

If your uploaded bank transactions are still in the For Review tab, there's no direct option to update the dates. We recommend excluding those transactions showing the wrong year (1969) and re-uploading them. These steps ensure everything is accurately dated, keeping your financial records in order.

Here's how you can exclude bank transactions:

  1. Go to Transactions, then Bank transactions.
  2. Select the For Review tab and tick the checkbox of the transactions to exclude.
  3. Click Exclude.

Next, prepare an Excel CSV file of your transactions with the correct dates (2022), and review the file format and size to ensure compatibility. Once done, you can follow the steps below for re-uploading your bank transactions into QBO:

  1. Navigate to the Transactions, then proceed to Bank Transactions.
  2. Click on the blue tile for the account you want to upload the transactions into.
  3.  In the Link Account dropdown, select Upload from File.
  4. Select Drag and drop or select files and choose the file you downloaded from your bank, then Continue.
  5.  In the Select a QuickBooks Account for the Bank File You Want to Upload dropdown, pick the account you want to upload the transactions into.
  6. Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns in the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Hit Continue.
  7. Select the transactions you wish to import and click Continue.
  8. Confirm the upload by clicking Yes, then Done.

Moreover, if you've already added these transactions and they are now on the bank register, you can edit them individually and update the dates to 2022. Refer to this article for guidance: Find, review, and edit transactions in account registers in QBO.

Once everything is in place, review your bank transactions before categorizing them to the correct account. After that, reconcile your accounts to ensure they match your bank and credit card statements.
