How do I delete all transactions and start all over?

I recently (less than 60 days ago) signed up for Quickbooks Online Simple Start and did not follow the proper order in setting up. Rather than trying to sort it all out, i just want to wipe it clean and start over. I searched for directions and found one that said to enter "purgecompany" in the address bar and it should allow me to do this, but when I try it, it just redirects back to my dashboard. No options for deleting any data show up.   

There is an instant flash of some kind of notification on the screen as soon as i hit enter, but it pops off so fast i have no idea what its saying.  

Surely there must be a way to start over??!?

The purge company steps are applicable for QuickBooks Online Plus or Essentials subscriptions. Since you're subscribed for QBO Simple Start, you'll have to cancel it and subscribe a new one.


Here's how to cancel your subscription: 

  1. Go to the Gear icon and choose Account and Settings.
  2. Select Billing & Subscription.
  3. In the QuickBooks section, click Cancel or Cancel Trial.
  4. Follow steps on the screen to cancel your subscription.

Once done, you can subscribe to a new QuickBooks Online account. Just click on this link and click the Buy now button of your preferred QBO subscription.

  As a workaround, if you don't want to create new QBO Company, There is an app in Intuit  AppCenter named Business Importer. Among its helpful features you'll find Deleting one, which helps you to erase all the transactions entity by entity from your current QBO account.
