How do I delete an unused company that doesn't have a subscription. there is no data to delete

Let me walk you through on how you can delete your company in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @cdkempf2.

The option to delete a company file depends on the account's tenure. If it's less than 60 days old, we can manually delete it. Just a heads up, this option is available in QuickBooks Essentials, QuickBooks Plus, and QuickBooks Advanced versions.

We can delete it by changing the last word to purgecompany of the account's URL. 

For example from https://c42.qbo.intuit.com/app/homepage to https://c42.qbo.intuit.com/app/purgecompany.

If the account is more than 60 days, we can cancel it. Then after a year of being inactive, the company data will be deleted automatically. Here's how to cancel:

1. Click the Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
2. Click Billing & Subscription.
3. Select Cancel your trial.
4. Click Continue to cancel.
5. Follow the steps on the screen.
6. Select Submit and cancel subscription.
7. Click Got it.

After that, we'll send the account administrator an email that confirms we canceled your subscription.
