How do I get linked credit cards not to show duplicate account balances in the "Cash Flow" tab?

I have two linked credit cards in one account and I noticed that the account balance is being counted twice in the Cash Flow tab. In other words, how do I get it to show one total balance for both cards in Cash Flow?

Hi there, Candice.

The best way to consolidate balances is to modify the two credit cards as sub-accounts of a parent account that isn't connected using online banking.

It's always best to connect your credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online separately to avoid discrepancies like this. The Cash Flow tab in your QBO account will always show the total for both cards if they are linked separately. You'll need to connect the credit cards as sub-accounts to a parent account that isn't connected to online banking, and this is how your chart of accounts should look like:

After analyzing your cash flow, you can consider using the clash flow planner to track your income and expenses in the future.

You can always leave a reply if you have additional concerns in QBO. We're always ready to help.
