Thanks for bringing up here in the Intuit Community, @Hope1790.
I'd love to help you convert your accountant's file.
To convert a .QBX file to a regular company file, you need to use a QuickBooks Desktop Premier Accountant or Enterprise Accountant versions. This way you can continue recording transactions without any restrictions.
Here's how:
- Open your accountant's copy.
- Create a backup copy of your file.
- Go to the File menu.
- Select Send Company File, then choose the Accountant's Copy.
- Click Convert Accountant's Copy to Company File/QBW.
- Select OK to convert the file.
- Ope the folder you want to save the .QBW file in.
- Rename the file, then click on Save.
- Once done, select OK.
After converting, you need to re-enter any changes you made to the original company file after creating the accountant's copy.
Also, here are some articles that you can check out about using the accountant's copy in QuickBooks Desktop:
Keep me posted if you have any other questions about converting the file in QuickBooks. I'll be around to help. Have a good one.
