How do I stop alternating colors on lists and reports that I am viewing

QuickBooks Pro 2016 Desktop - All of a sudden I have alternating blue shading of every other line on lists such as Chart of Accounts, Memorized Reports Lists, etc.(see attached screenshot.) I also have shading on all of the reports I view. How do I turn this off so that the blue is gone and I just see white background with black lettering? This is not changed by changing the Company File Color Scheme.

How do I stop alternating colors on lists and reports that I am viewing

Hello there, @alleycat747.

Thanks for turning to the Community for your concerns about the alternating fields display in your QuickBooks company, and I'm honored to guide you in fixing the display issues.

Since changing the company file color scheme didn't work for you, it could be that the issue needs someo some troubleshooting on your Windows theme.

To do this, let start by changing it to Basic. Here's how:

  1. Right-click anywhere on your Desktop then select Personalize.
  2. Choose one of the Windows Basic Themes.
  3. Restart your computer, then reopen QuickBooks.

If the issue persists, I'd recommend downloading and installing the QuickBooks Tools Hub to fix common errors in your company file.

You can also visit this article for additional guidance: Fix common problems and errors with the QuickBooks Desktop Tool Hub.

You're always welcome to reply if you have follow-up questions about fixing your display issues. I'll be around to help.

Thank you, but no resolution by changing the personalization to a basic them or by using the fix tools. I read online that it appears that Inuit mistakenly pushed an update to the older versions of QB Pro desktop which caused this to show up, and the older versions don't have the ability to turn it off like newer versions. I'm not sure if that is the cause but it sounds like it could be and that some other people are waiting on an update to correct it.

I don't think there is any way to turn it off. Every recent version of QuickBooks that I use has this, in every company file I work with. I think it's part of the 'new' user interface.
