How do you change the contact name (not the business name or information butbthe name of the person automatically generated emails from quickbooks go to?

Are you trying to update your client's information? If so, I have all the steps that you need to accomplish them. Let me show you how:

1. In QuickBooks Online Accountant, go to the Clients menu.
2. Find the client.
3. Select Edit client in the Actions column.
4. Make your changes.
5. When you're done, select Save.

If you don’t see the changes immediately, kindly refresh your web browser.

not a clients information our companies.  I can see when I can go in and change some information but when quickbooks send us an email for example with our membership payment confirmation the name they are addressing it to is completely wrong

Let's review your Intuit account information to make sure your personal information and contact details are correctly entered.

1. Go to this link: Manage Intuit Account. 
2. Select Personal info.
3. Click name and modify the details if necessary.
   
4. Hit Save to reflect the changes.

If the name is correct, but still you're seeing a wrong detail in the membership payment confirmation, I'd highly recommend contacting our Support Team. They'll check your account in a private environment and help us change it.
 

1. Within your QBO account, go to Help in the upper-right corner.
2. In the Search tab, click Contact us.
3. Enter a brief description of your concern.
4. Click Continue.

I got here additional steps to help you change your contact name in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

To do so, you can update it by following these steps:

1. To start, download and complete the Contact Name Change template.
2. Next, select one of the following supporting documents:

• Marriage license.
• Current government-issued ID like a state-issued ID, a driver's license, or a passport.

3. Then, contact our phone support team to submit the form and upload your government-issued ID via Intuit Customer File Exchange.
