Buy nowI want to add my invoice amount to the email subject line when sending invoices. Before any 'experts' get on here trying to explain how to create an email template, that's NOT what I asked. I know how to create templates, I have several. I want the invoice amount to show up in the email subject line. How is this not possible in 2026?
@windyl0u I don't know, but given how badly QB mangled the Desktop e-mails recently, I'd be willing to call it even if QB stopped trying to improve the e-mails at all.
Whatever caused them to believe it'd be a good idea to (without notice!) add a line telling customers 'Please remember to pay this on time!' is beyond me.
Hi there, Windy.
Thank you for reaching out about adding the invoice amount to the email subject line when sending invoices. I understand you've already explored this issue through our support line, and I appreciate your efforts in seeking a solution.
At present, QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) doesn't have a direct option to include the invoice amount in the email subject line when sending invoices to customers.
With this, I encourage you to share your experiences with us through official feedback forums, which directly inform our updates and product enhancements team. Your feedback is invaluable as we continue to improve our products.

I'm so flipping done with intuit. I'm actively looking for better options. I've used desktop since my daughter was 1, She just turned 23. The new invoice emails have me livid, they also screwed up the option to change the email template too. It will automatically send the default regardless of which template you choose. You can change the default, but you have to completely restart your computer for it to work. Saying "Your invoice is ready!" sounds so flipping ignorant on a PAST DUE invoice.
