I've accidentally made a duplicate mileage entry. How can I delete it?

How to delete vehicle mileage entry

Open it. An easy way to do this is run the detail report, and double-click one that you want to delete.

Now you see it.

That means you can Delete it. Edit menu > Delete or Ctl D.

How to delete vehicle mileage entry

I am trying to delete a vehicle mileage entry that I made by mistake.  I can find no way to erase it.  I tried double clicking on the report (nothing), I tried to edit the entry (it won't accept no vehicle or - miles), etc.

Why is this so difficult?  How do I simply delete an entry?

How to delete vehicle mileage entry

Thanks for responding to this thread, @DaveH2.

You can follow the steps provided by qbteachmt. If you're unable to double-click the record on the report, I'd suggest closing and reopening the report.

For the detailed steps in opening the Mileage Reports, here's how:

  1. Go to the Company menu and then select Enter Vehicle Mileage.
  2. Select Mileage Reports.
  3. Find the vehicle and double-click the number on the Miles column.
  4. Double click the mileage entry that you have created.
  5. Press Ctrl + D and then select Yes to confirm.

Just in case you wanted to create a memorized report is QuickBooks Desktop, you can refer to this article:Create, access and modify memorized reports.

Please let me know if you need further assistance. I'll be around to help. Stay safe and healthy!

How to delete vehicle mileage entry

Thanks for your response but I think you misunderstood my question.  I want to delete an entry not just change the mileage. When I double click on the entry in the report it brings  up the "Enter Vehicle Mileage" box. I want to delete that entry completely.

I ended up with extra entries in the mileage table because I did not realize that hitting ENTER placed the data in the table and so I filled in the data a second time.

Thanks,

Dave

OK, I've figured it out.  You have to highlight the miles data in the fill in box, not the column.  Then only CTL-D deletes it and not the DELETE key.

Thanks for your help.
