How to I clear old transactions from my linked bank accounts that are still showing as uncleared but are complete?

I'll share some details to help you clear old transactions from your bank accounts in QBO, eprucyk.

Before we begin, can you please clarify whether you're referring to transactions that have already been reconciled or cleared? This additional information will help us identify the root cause of your issue more effectively.

If this is the case, you can review all the entries to ensure there are no duplicate transactions in your account. Old transactions will still appear since they were entered manually and do not match the current records. If you find that there are duplicate transactions, you can easily delete them by following the steps provided below:

  1. Select the Gear icon, and then go to Chart of Accounts.
  2. Locate the account with the duplicate transactions, and click the View register option.
  3. Identify the entry you want to delete.
  4. In the checkmark column, select the box with the "R" until it's blank. This removes the transactions from the reconciliation.
  5. Click the Delete button to remove.

However, if these transactions are not marked as duplicates, you can manually clear them from your Bank Register. I also recommend reaching out to your accountant for advice to make sure this won’t impact your other previously reconciled transactions.

Lastly, I'll share this article in case you want to generate a reconciliation report for QBO: How do I view, print, or export a reconciliation report?
