how to search for a word in template description field?

Hello....I want to find out how much money we made doing bus charter jobs to Yosemite.....

I think I should look for the word 'Yosemite'. The word 'Yosemite' would be in the QB template description field.

How would I do this?......some kind of profit & loss report?...but how to search for 'Yosemite'?

Thanks!

how to search for a word in template description field?

Hi @larryf,

We want to help you with your concern about searching for a word on a template. However, we need more information about it to provide the correct resolution and to get this sorted out promptly.

Are you referring to the Description fields of your line items within your transactions? Any additional details or a screenshot of the description would be greatly appreciated.

In the meantime, I've attached an article for some info about the reports in QuickBooks, like how you export data to Excel: Export reports as Excel workbooks in QuickBooks Desktop.

Please know that you're always welcome to post any questions related to managing data or transactions in QuickBooks. Have a great day ahead.

how to search for a word in template description field?

Hi there, larryf.

I appreciate you for coming back to the thread and adding screenshots or additional details about your concern. With this, I'll make sure you can find the transaction you're looking for that has Yosemite details associated with it.

There's an Icon or Search Bar in QuickBooks Desktop that you can utilize to easily find your entries by entering the specific details. The said option helps you view all the transactions you've entered into the program. To begin using it, I suggest going to the Homepage and starting looking at the invoice that has Yosemite.

Here's how:

  1. Visit your Homepage.
  2. Enter the word Yosemite in the search bar that is located above the shortcut's menu. Then, click the search icon.
  3. Click the Update search information link to appear all the updated details related to the word you've entered.
  4. All the transactions show on the right panel of the Search page.

I've added a screenshot below for your visual reference.

Lastly, you may refer to this article to see different ways how you can track customer transactions in QBDT to ensure your account receivable stays accurate: Get started with customer transaction workflows in QuickBooks Desktop.

Keep in touch if you need any more assistance with this, or if there's something else I can do for you about your QuickBooks data. I've got your back, larryf. Have a good day.
