Join nowMy company accesses three other company files via Right Networks, and a fourth company via Summit Hosting, so basically we are logged into a VPN to get to the RDP Right Networks or Summit Hosting virtual desktops, and then from there log into QuickBooks Enterprise . We currently have to download our financials to a csv files and copy them from the RDP desktop file explorer to our laptop (or machine's desktop) file explorer and then open the csv and cut and paste data into other excel files to consolidate our financials that run on other ERP systems. Very cumbersome!
My question is how can I utilize an ODBC connection to extract the financial data I need without doing it solely in the VPN desktop? Essentially, I need a backend access to my QB tables so that I can pull data either to excel or to Snowflake so that I can work with data, consolidate it, analyze and push it onto POWER BI internal dashboards. Sure I could download the QODBC driver for QB within the VPN, but then I still have to copy out data to my personal desktop. Looking for a way around that and automating the process. Any ideas how best to achieve this? Thank you!

Once you put your QBD files on a hosting service, they will reluctant to integrate with another app to safeguard their own environment. Consider to deploy a private cloud at your premise and you may utilize ODBC for your needs. Explore this service to do so.

Another option, explore this BI app as the alternate option to PowerBI. It supports QB Desktop and QB Online. You don't need to use ODBC.
Ryan, I went to the Intuit Developer Support and asked the same question...although the question box gives space for only 255 chars, so I had to abbreviate my ask. I have not heard anything back yet from that group...
Thanks,
JW
