You can bring in different types of firm information like Lists which include Chart of Accounts, Vendors, Customers, Products, and Services, and Transactions, like Invoices and Expenses. However, since one of your clients is already set up as My Firm, you can't use the Import firm’s books feature directly in this case.
Here’s how you can import your firm’s data:
- Log into the QuickBooks account where your firm’s books are currently set up.
- Export lists like Chart of Accounts, Products and Services, Vendors, or Customers, and any transactions you need, into an Excel/CSV file.
- Log into your QuickBooks Online Accountant account and select the company file associated with your firm’s books.
- Go to the Gear icon, and under Tools, select Import Data.
- Choose the type of data you need to import and upload your files.
Also, to resolve your client account being labeled as My Firm, I recommend contacting our QBO Live Support Team. They can securely access your account and assist with the correct setup. Here's how to reach Live Support:
- Go to Help in QuickBooks.
- Use the Search bar and type Contact Support.
- Select Contact Us at the bottom and follow the prompts to choose Chat or Request a Call.
