Thanks for letting us know, donna153. Let me provide insight to help you create Accounts Payable in your Chart of Accounts.
You'll need to make sure you've switched to a Business view to perform tasks efficiently without any errors. Changing your view won't affect your account data. To do this:
- Select Settings ⚙.
- Select Switch to Business view or Switch to Accountant view.

However, if you still aren't able to create accounts in your COA, you can sign in to QuickBooks using an incognito or private browser or try other browser troubleshooting options. Sometimes a browser is loaded with frequently accessed pages, which results in some unusual behaviors. This way, you can seamlessly manage your accounting data in your file.
Moreover, you'll want to review and reconcile your accounts to ensure they match your bank & credit card statements.
I'll be on this thread any time you need further assistance when managing accounts in your file. You're always welcome to reply to this post, and I'll be around to provide further help. Keep safe and have a great day ahead!
