I am getting error 81597 (Invalid request) while trying to resubscribe our quickbook online

Let's perform some steps to renew your QuickBooks Online (QBO) subscription, work5.

There are times when a browser's cache data becomes full of frequently accessed websites or damage. When this happens, it prevents you from re-subscribing your QBO account. To better isolate this issue, let's try signing in to your account using a private or incognito window. This mode doesn't use the existing cache data and helps us confirm browser-related issues. Here's how:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Option + P

Then, try renewing your account by following the steps below:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Click the Gear icon on the top menu.
  3. Choose Account and Settings
  4. Select Billing & Subscription, then Resubscribe and enter the updated billing information.
  5. Hit Subscribe.

For the steps and details, see How to resubscribe or reactivate QuickBooks Online article.

If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to delete those temporarily stored files and browsing history. The overtime collection of data can create corruption, however, removing this should fix the issue. You can also use other supported, up-to-date browsers to roll out the possibility of a browser-related issue.

You can also refer to the How to understand your subscription rates and charges article to check your subscription rates and charges and where a charge is originating from. Feel free to visit our Account management page for more insights about managing your Intuit accounts.

I'd like to know how you get on after trying the steps, as I want to ensure this is resolved for you. Please leave a comment below and I'll get back to you. You have a good one.

Hello there, work5.

Thanks for getting back to us and for trying the suggestion shared by my colleague above.

One of the things that we consider doing is to double-check and ensure that we have permission to resubscribe the QuickBooks Online account. It could be that we're currently using the book as a regular user. If so, I'd recommend contacting your master admin to help you complete the task of resubscribing the program.

If that's not the case, you may want to start a new account if the current one doesn't have much information. We can also contact our support team to look into your specific account in detail, see what's going on, and even screen share with you if necessary. Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QBO or our test drive account.
  2. Click the Help.
  3. Enter a short description your concern.
  4. Select I still need a human. Then, hit Contact us.
