I am getting this error message when I try to upload the bank's .qbo transaction's file. "The uploaded file isn't a valid Web Connect file." Has anyone experienced it?

I have 2 QBO accounts, one for each of the 2 companies I am working on. Although both accounts are on the same bank, each has a different interface app. One account downloads from the bank with a name like "export.qbo" and uploads perfectly into QBO. The other one comes with names such as "xxxxxxxxxxxx28.qbo" and brings the error mentioned before. I searched in the help section, there is a post about possible upload error messages, mine is not on the list. Thanks in advance for any guidance you can give me. This is a new company with about 8 months of transactions and I prefer to upload than do data entry.

Utilize the trial version of this converter app. Did you encounter the same issue?

Hello @Mayra5,

In QuickBooks Online, the frequently accessed page resources stored on your browser may affect your browsing experience. They can cause unexpected browser problems like how you received an error message trying to upload transactions.

.

That said, let's consider letting them log in to the account using a private or incognito browser so we can isolate this issue. Here are the shortcut keys you can provide for easy access:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Option P

If this works, you can continue by clearing your regular browser's cache so the system can start fresh and improve your browsing experience. But if you get  the same results show up while using a private browser, use a different browser app instead.

On top of that, I've also included this reference helpful with the steps needed in categorizing and matching your uploaded transactions: How to Review Downloaded Bank and Credit Card Transactions and put them in the Correct Accounts.

Don't hesitate to post again here if you have other questions or concerns with QuickBooks tasks and navigations. I'm always around happy to help. Take care and stay safe!
