I got the steps that you need in transferring your QuickBooks to your new computer, @johncooper1952.
To transfer your data from one computer to another, you'll need to create and restore a backup company file. It saves your data and supporting files. You can also simply copy and paste your entire QuickBooks folder to a new location.
Here's how to create a backup copy of your data:
In QuickBooks, go to the File menu and select Switch to Single-user Mode.
Go to the File menu again and hover over Back up Company.
Then select Create Local Backup.
In the window, select Local Backup and then Next.
In the Local Backup Only section, select Browse and select where you want to save your backup company file.
Set the number of backups you want to keep.
This runs a test to make sure your backup file is in good shape before you save.
When you're ready, select OK.
Press on Save it now and Next.
Once done, you can now install your QuickBooks to the new computer and restore that backup that you made afterward. Know that if you move your company file to another computer, it won't affect your product license. You can press the F2 key on your keyboard to get the product info.
