Thanks for visiting us here in the Community. I'm here to share information about processing 1099s in QuickBooks Online (QBO).


Are you to e-mail 1099s through QBO? If so, may I know if you're getting any error messages when trying to do so? Any additional information will be much appreciated.


On the other hand, if you want to submit 1099s through e-filing, this service is only for federal 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC filings. For more information about what states require a 1099 filing or support combined filings see Does my state need Form 1099-MISC to be filed? Contact your state for more information and learn how to file.


The E-file Service starts at $14.99. This includes creating and e-filing up to three forms to the IRS. For each additional form, the price is $3.99. If you have more than 20 forms, we’ll include them for free.

My colleague FritzF already shared all the possible troubleshooting options to fix this issue with processing 1099's.


Since you've tried all the possible steps to fix your issue with 1099, the best thing to do here is to contact our Customer Care Team. This requires a thorough investigation from our technical support so they can work on this in a secure environment as well. If you have a case number from the previous call, you can give that to the next representative so they can check the status of the reported case.


Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu at the upper right.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter your concern.
  4. Click Let’s talk.
  5. Choose Get a callback
  6. Type in your contact info.
  7. Select Confirm my call.
