I gave somewhat administrator access and I need to take that back. I am the owner of the account.

As the account owner, I can see the importance of having full control over your financial information, and I'm here to help you recover your exclusive administrative access to your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account, Matt.

To clarify, QBSE is tailored specifically for self-employed individuals, meaning the admin is the sole account holder and thus cannot add additional users. Although you can invite an accountant, only one can be included.

Currently, the in-product option to transfer Primary Admin access to someone else is unavailable. When you mentioned giving administrator access to someone, did you mean they changed the email address associated with their Intuit account linked to your QBSE access?

If that's the situation, we can initiate a request to recover your account access, allowing you to sign in successfully with your credentials. To do that, please navigate to this link: Recover your Intuit Account if you can’t sign in. Then, go to the I lost access to my phone or email address section and fill out the form by clicking the Recover my account button.

To proceed, please submit a clear photo or scan of another government-issued ID or a notarized document that displays your name and address. We'll process your request within one business day.

On the other hand, if you added an accountant and view that as providing similar administrative access, we can remove their access to your account. Here’s how:

  1. Select the Settings icon.
  2. Click on Accountant.
  3. In the Resend invite dropdown under the ACTION column, hit Delete.

Additionally, enhance the security of your account by updating your user ID, password, email address, or phone number through the Intuit Account Manager.

Please let me know how it goes, and if your situation differs from what I’ve described, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m always here to help you recover your account access. You can drop by this thread anytime, and I’ll respond as quickly as possible.
