One QBO account is for one company file. You can manage branches/divisions by utilizing the Class/Location feature available in QBO Plus and Advanced. Otherwise you should open a new account.

It's nice to see you here, jjordan7725.

I'll share some information about having multiple company files to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) subscription.

Yes, I agree with Fiat Lux - ASIA That there are two options and instructions on how to separate your QuickBooks Online. The first option is to utilize our class tracking feature in QBO.  Please know that this feature is only available in QuickBooks Online Plus.

To turn on:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Select Account and Settings.
  3. In the navigational bar, click Advanced.
  4. Select Categories.
  5. Check off Track classes to turn on class tracking.
  6. Click Save and then Done.

Here's how to set up classes:

  1. Click the Gear icon and All Lists.
  2. Select Classes. ( You can also add locations by selecting Locations.)
  3. Click the New button.
  4. Add the name of the class or location and click Save.

Another option is to create a different QBO subscription. This means each Company you'll create will have its own subscription. But if you already have an existing account, you can use the same login credentials when signing up and switching between Companies.

Here's how:

  1. Go to https://quickbooks.intuit.com/online/.
  2. Choose a version of QuickBooks.
  3. On the signup page, select Sign in.
  4. Enter your login information and follow the on-screen prompts to set up the second company.
  5. And then log in to your account: http://qbo.intuit.com. You will have the option to select your companies.

After you subscribe, simply click the Gear icon at the top to Switch Company.
